I set aside time after work tonight to make use of a nifty plunge router jig I built over the weekend. This jig, outlined here, makes plunge routing mortises a breeze.
As you may or may not be able to see from the picture, the jig mounts to the base of the plunge router and clamps on either side of the work piece. With a stop block fore and aft the whole process is pretty error proof. I used it tonight to make the mortises for my "couch" end table project - the next step will be aligning everything on the router table and creating the mortises for the drawer rails.
In case you were wondering, I am not doing my best ninja impression here - my "shop" is just a garage and it was below freezing tonight!
