COVID-19 Creations

Latest Post The Hound of the Baskervilles by Owen Soule

Since the COVID-19 shutdown has allowed me to spend a great deal of time baby sitting, I decided to use some of that time with my son to delve into new and varied art forms. The result of these strange art projects is cataloged below… along with my gentle slip into madness! Enjoy...

The first batch here are chalk drawings, they mostly follow my typical comic book subject matter because it’s always good for entertaining wee ones!

Moving on from the medium of chalk, I dabbled in mixed media using construction paper and crayon to create deep sea critters:

The angler fish known to all as "Angler"

Octopus of Doom!

Expanding on my already extensive crayon work, I added these pieces:

HULK MARCH!

Marvel's Hulk vs DC's Damage - I choose Damage!

No idea why I was so into Daredevil, I blame Corona!

And where else could I go at this point but into the even more challenging world of Lego!

Cherry picker from scavenged hearse parts?

Spiderman's Spidercar!

And to round out this COVID-19 creations experience, a good old fashioned ink drawing. This one is of Jocko Willink the retired Navy Seal, podcaster, leadership adviser, etc. I don't really like this drawing form a likeness standpoint, but as far as inking goes I do like some of what I did here alternating the fine crow-quill and the thicker brushwork. Something to use going forward!

If the COVID-19 lockdown continues much longer I may wind up doing crazy art installations in the back yard or performance art pieces in our cul-de-sac... weeee!
